Dear Readers,
I am just back from a very refreshing vacation, and I have lots of notes for future blogs. Let me just say nature was displayed in all its glory, and there was some danger, incredible food, and lots of relaxation.
We arrived home just in time to celebrate my 33rd birthday—that’s my story, and I’m sticking to it. I will not be blogging about my birthday, even though 33 is a nice round number …
The canine welcome home was unbelievable, with yipping, dancing, caroling (yes, caroling), and a lot of close contact—actually lovely.
But another thing I arrived home for is thumb surgery. My carpometacarpal joint is shot, and the pain and weakness interferes with just about everything. Did you know that you use your thumb in approximately 70% of your hand movements? The tipping point came when I didn’t think I was going to get the door open in a restaurant bathroom. Next Wednesday I get a new joint, and the rehabilitation process is long.
I don’t know how long I will be unable to type, but it may be awhile. I may try dictating, but we will see. So right now I am wishing you all a lovely fall filled with color, the aromas of autumn, lots of good food, and the love of family and friends.
And since Thanksgiving is not too far away, I want you to know how much I cherish each and every one of you.
Gratefully,
Kathleen

Happy 33rd. I guess that makes me 33 as well! I hope you recover from the surgery quickly…with the help of your puppies. I enjoy your stories dear friend.

Hi Marlyn, Why yes you are also 33. Isn’t it great? I’m not sure about my canine nurses though…

Kathleen, I will be thinking of you on Wednesday and praying that everything goes smoothly with the surgery and recovery.
I love that photo! Did you take it? It reminds me of how things will look here in a few weeks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Which Sept. date is your birthday? I lost track. I assume it was a good one (?)
33 sounds like a nice age to imagine being. Although for me 50 seems a bit more realistic. 🙂
Nothing like a Dachsund Chorus to make your day!
❤️❤️❤️

Praying for your surgery and ultimate healing.
Happy 33birthday as well, but like others I prefer 50 as an age to hold on to.
Coming to California today for a week. I’ll try to see you. Love the fall photo.
